Uterine Fibroids

I came across a health news brief while reading Women's Health that's about fibroids. A few weeks ago I had a robotic hysterectomy. Grab a copy of the magazine, on news stands today. Pay extra attention to the first and last statements in this health news brief.

I have a history with uterine fibroids, and they were seriously symptomatic. I was anemic the first go round, had horrible periods, and a uterus filled with several large fibroids. I had a myomectomy seven years ago to remedy the situation. It brought me great relief. However, they returned last year, and I underwent treatment to shrink them and to prepare for the da Vinci robotic hysterectomy. I'll be sharing more about my experiences in upcoming blog posts. I must tell you now, this recovery has been considerably well and the relief from the fibroids having been removed couldn't bring me greater joy!

Don't ignore the signs. I'll be in touch and sharing more about women's health experiences as they relate to me, and maybe to you too.

It's Time To...

Let it go!

I'm having a letting go moment. If there is something that was created by you or someone else that is holding you back, disturbing your peace or wrecking havoc on your health - let it go!

Much love, peace and blessings!

So Sweet...Papyrus

I bought a greeting card for a close family friend today. It came with a message, from Papyrus, that I want to share. Hummingbirds are one of my favorite birds, so this touched my heart.

"Legends say that hummingbirds float free of time, carrying our hopes for love, joy and celebration. The hummingbird's delegate grace reminds us that life is rich, beauty is everywhere, every personal connection has meaning and that laughter is life's sweetest creation."

Thank you, Papyrus, for this sweet reminder.

#tbt Be Thankful for Life

Hey, it's throwback Thursday. I just threw a few pictures together into a collage to share with my friends on Facebook, and thought I would share with my friends of Let's Share Dialogue, and I encourage you to do the same: Share! When this day comes weekly, I don't always post a picture to share, or even a collage. However, I do reflect on fun times I've had with friends, and I comment on the posts that I do see that serve as a reminder of what we all have to be thankful for: Life!

Sparkles

I am loving my shamballa bracelet. I love the colors, and sparkles. Just thought I'd share. Google and see where you can find one for yourself, how to make them or what color combinations may best suit your desires.

Thyroid Cancer Survivors' Association

Some of our thyroid health friends have lost their thyroids due to cancer, so let's take a moment to share dialogue about Thyroid Cancer Awareness Month. The Thyroid Cancer Survivors’ Association, Inc., www.thyca.org, has free materials available to you year-round, so I thought I would note a few.

Free education, support, and awareness flyers can be accessed at www.thyca.org. There are several resources that you can use for educational purposes, and to raise awareness. You can also e-mail thyca@thyca.org with your address and asking them to mail you brochures, American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE) Neck Check cards, and plastic wallet cards.

Thank you, ThyCa!
